Train every day
Train every day… train every day… I know it sounds redundant and I’m sure many people rolled her eyes chalking it up to a waste of time you’re running away from reality or whatever excuse someone could possibly come up with.
for me getting out of the house going to the gym was a routine to retrain my TBi brain, then working body parts with lots and lots of heavy iron helped to get me back with muscle memory. Our brains control Everything!
See, after the accident back in 2012… 2 1/2 years of cognitive therapy along with physical therapy, steroid shots, lidocaine shots… and many other modalities I was basically given the sentence of you’re going to need to rely on a walker or a cane or some other device to help you get around and do things day today, just get used to it. To operate us too risky. That along with a pretty big prescription of oxycodone… That was my future. I said fuck that.
I’ve been a gym rat all my life and then about 13 days I turn 60… That actually means 44 years I have been in the gym. Yes I’ve had some times where I’ve been out of the gym like when I had the accident etc. etc. So here’s what happened in 2015 when I started my cannabis journey… I went back to the gym and I worked with a trainer who helped get me totally back on track. The trainer motivated me so that I could believe that my body could deal again and be almost like a normal human 😉.
I could go into all the gory details about how my body didn’t work and how it does now but let me say this back in 2015 I couldn’t feel anything from the waist down. That meant I had to self catheterize, for the most basic of human needs. Today my body feels and works better than it did 25/30 years ago. I owe it all to Cannabis, training in the day, focus, and the little spark that my trainer saw promising me. I have had a crazy journey, I think we all do… But exercise and a clean mindset has made my life so worth living.
